Cancellation Notice

Kia Ora, Whānau.
It’s with a heavy heart we’ve decided to cancel this event, due to the fact we simply did not get the numbers we needed to make this tentpole-event viable or enjoyable for participants.
There’s simply no point in denying this obvious fact; happy to discuss over a beverage.
We’ve held off as long as we could, but we’ve decided to make the call now so as to not completely scupper people’s weekend plans. (not gonna lie: this sucks)
We suspect that this may have come about due to a combination of timing, subject-matter, volunteer-exhaustion, format, difficulty some messages across, traction or engagement, COVID, etc.
As such, we’re refunding commitments where possible, but do ask that you please take a minute to give us feedback on how you feel we can do better next time. (And there WILL be a next time!)
We’ll use this information to – as the cool kids say – ‘pivot’ onto the next challenge, making changes where required.
We’re incredibly grateful to benefactors, judges, mentors, supporters, volunteers, participants and all the people for your support, but we do have one last request: feedback on what could’ve been done better – the could’ve, would’ve, should’ve – as we feel this crowdsolving concept does have merit (with a Masters research project to back that up), and we don’t want to abandon all the hard mahi & mana that’s gone in so far.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your support this far.
If you have any questions or comments, please reach out.
